Hurry, hurry!

Hey guys

We've just come out of a meeting in an Anglican church in Bristol. Everything was going really well. The meeting had just finished, things were winding down and people were starting milling around the book table.

George hurried up to me and said 'we have to go-now' When he is in a rush like that, I run. I said 'I'll just deflate the globe'. 'Come on, come on, we're going NOW!' he said back. I moved to plan B and quickly bungled out the church door and squashed into the back seat of the car with the still half inflated globe in my hands.

You'd think that George would slow down a bit now that he is going on 70, but no! When we are going through the stations I need to jog behind to him with the suitcases. The funny thing is...George is walking!! I can't help chuckling as I see peoples faces. Hehe

Well, it's been a long time since I last posted and I've had lots of excitng trips all over the World. I'd love to tell you all about them but have a tendency to bore peoples faces off when I do that. I've been learning that most people like to have extreme summaries when it comes to stuff like this. I'll do a short update on my next post, when I am at the computer

weight lifting

I'm going on the train with George Verwer up to Capernwray in the lake ditrict for a mens weekend that he is speaking at. Whenever I am travelling to meetings on the train i have to carry 2 big suitcases packed full of books for the meetings + my bag and laptop bag. George also made it clear to me that i am also responsible for his bags and said to me, "if any bags go missing during this trip - mine or yours - then it is completely your responsibility". Gulp.

Must be building your muscles and losing your weight fast with all these carrying. Hope you are learning heaps, apart from the responsibility of caring for stuff. Perhaps may be useful to have some sort of daily inventory and task list on your blackberry. :)

embarrassing....

I'm on the train coming back from london bridge. I had to collect two A3 boxes full of books from central london and i am just heading back. As i was carrying the boxes through london bridge station, i was resting some of the weight on my belt. Everything was going just fine until my belt broke and started to fall off!! I then had the interesting experience of trying to descretely remove my belt without people noticing (on a packed station!). This could potentially become very embarrasing...I needed that belt. Your prayers would be greatly appreciated.I'm a numpty because i also forgot to také the car to the station in west wickham, so there is only a TEN MINUTE walk home with these boxes! This has been the greatest challenge i have had so far :). I'll keep you posted...

Hey Markus,
Thanks for giving us some insight into your new life...we are thinking of you and wishing you much strength, wisdom and stamina to keep going (and hope you find a new belt soon as I don´t think you´re quite the type for showing the top of your boxers with your trousers hanging low!).
Many blessings to you, bro!

Moni <>< :-)

This is a hilarious mental picture :) Thanks for that

Thank God at least your trousers didn't fall off. Lip

here, there and everywhere!

I'm currently sitting on a train coming back from Leeds. With me are two laptops, my back pack and an A3 box packed full of books all of which i will soon have to lug through London in order to get home. Life as a gofer is intense and always busy. Unexpected challenges have been the norm and have really stretched me during this first week.

The car journey up to leeds was interesting, to say the least. The gofer mobile (ford sierra) was packed full of books for the busy weekend of meetings and also all of Nigel's belongings from the flat. The car felt like it was dying the further we got. Upon arival at the meeting place and as i got out, i noticed that the fumes and smoke that i was smelling were not from the exaust but from the underside of the car! "Oh pants!".

This morning i took it to a local garage after browsing on my BLACKBERRY, and failed to realise that they were due to close at 1230. Oh...pants! Being required for a meeting in south england tomorrow, this presnted another problem. So here i am on the train.

One thing that George emphasises a lot is redeeming the time. He is a wirlwind so it is hard to keep up! Each morning i phone him up at 7:20 and by then he is pretty much half way through the day! he'll tell me "wow! I've just come back from a tremendous walk along the avon river." It's amazing the pace he goes at!

Constantly doing something productive is quite challenging. However it is incredible what can be achieved when those 5 or 10 minute spaces are used. No matter how much i seem to work though there is always a mass more to do, which can be a little discouraging. God has been very good to me though and has given me the strength to do my best and avoid discouragment.

I really want to thank you all for your prayers and support in this. I wouldn't be able to be here without it. God bless you all!

I will share some about holland and turning point soon. I want to also put up some pictures. Please excuse the lack of them in this post. It was writen on my phone.

Keep up the good work, Mark! I'm praying for you.

Here is another one of them origami videos I do:

Oh, and just so you know, my disertation is in, which is indeed a most triumphantly good thing! Hurrah! This is for all of you who helped and encouraged me whilst I was writing it. Enjoy :)

Comments:
Wonderful! Congratulations...

Well done on completing your dissertation Mark!
Wonderful video as always...some of us have just about managed to fold a piece of paper in half accurately...ahh well!

Let's have some more then

Hey, I saw your video of the five intersecting tetrahedra on youtube, I know how to fold it but I always have to take a look at the instructions when I get to the third tetrahedra. Have you learned it by heart? Your videos are great :) I've been studying origami for almost two years now, and I've always wanted to make some videos like yours. Great job! bye bye

Hi. I'm trying to replicate your book by watching your video, but you're doing it way too fast for me to follow, even though I've downloaded the video and watched it in slow motion. Would you mind making a new video, where you do it more slowly, and where you more clearly show what you do in each step. I've managed to get to about 2 minutes and 40 seconds, before I get stuck.

And thanks for the video btw :D

Nevermind. Patience (and a lot of trying) gets you a long way ;D

Thanks again for the wonderful video.

cute
i mean both ^^

Thank you very much!
It's perfect!

Bellissimo!

IM MAD MAKING THESE!

GIVE ME A DIARAM OR ELSE I WILL SUICIDE!....I REALLY NEED THESE!.....#%^$#%!#%!!!!!!!

Hi, besides a lovely video and a very nice little booklet, I was wondering about the music .... who's is it?

Your video is great - much easier to follow than a diagram - ugh - I hate reading instructions! Thanks!! Wowser that is a cool book!!

What a cool vid, Mark! Reminds me how much I enjoy doing origami :)

Keep them up & thanks for the congrats on the job!

That`s just awesome!! And you keep all the tehnology of in your head??

Great tutorial--much more helpful than others I've looked at--thanks for posting this!

That is so cool, thanks for sharing!

Wow!
I found the video in youtube!
I'm so surprised at your origami technique!

I'd tried to fold the paper as you did in the video, but I couldn't...
I wish you made the folding guide...
